MSLF undertakes nationally significant public interest litigation, throughout the country, without charge (pro bono) on behalf of deserving clients who cannot afford to hire private counsel:  (1) to ensure that the law is applied in accordance with the requirements of the Constitution and the intent of Congress, that is, the rule of law; and (2) to change public attitudes regarding important matters of public policy. Thus, MSLF is always interested in receiving requests for legal assistance; however, not all requests for legal assistance or cases meet MSLF's public interest criteria.

MSLF's Litigation

Although MSLF is interested in all nationally significant public interest litigation that involves constitutional liberties and the rule of law, MSLF's focus areas include:

• Access to and Use of Federal and State Lands and Resources
• Endangered Species Act and Other Environmental Laws
• Rights and Liberties Guaranteed by the Constitution
• Limited and Ethical Government
