America was built on the back of horses and they are revered in many cultures.  The horse slaughter industry is both cruel and unnecessary.

I urge you to hold an immediate up or down vote for H.R. 503, The Prevention of Equine Cruelty Act, which would ban horse slaughter in the United States and prevent the export of our horses for slaughter across our borders.

I understand that past anti-slaughter legislation was supported by President Obama and Senator McCain as well as receiving overwhelming support from the American people.  Sadly, high paid lobbyists from the agriculture and livestock industries continue to prevent legislation to ban horse slaughter from coming to a vote.  Your immediate attention to this urgent matter is greatly appreciated.
